Casa 11 Mujeres (Eleven Women House) by Mathias Klotz
Casa 11 Mujeres (Eleven Women House) is one of the last works of the Chilean architect Mathias Klotz, a house on the edge of a cliff near Santiago de Chile.
The name “Eleven Women,” is because the owners are a divorced couple, who between them total 11 children, all women, whose ages range from the age of majority and 8 years. The place has a magnificent view of the Pacific, while a steep slope towards the sea, with magnificent views. This is why the program works on three levels, plus a guest room in the pool, where all the rooms overlook the sea.
This project delivers on the three words I was discussing below, it gives us a sense of freedom, (open to the ocean) security (situated on a 45 degree slop cliff face site) and peace (the natural landscape and sounds of the crashing waves)
